JSONPath Finder – Query & Explore JSON
Query JSON with path expressions. Click any result to copy the path.
Quick Reference (Click to test)
What is JSONPath?
JSONPath is to JSON what XPath is to XML — a query language for selecting values inside a document (for example $.store.books[0].title). This online JSONPath finder and evaluator runs expressions against your JSON instantly, shows every matching value with its full path, and lets you click any node in the results to copy its path for reuse. It runs entirely in your browser — the documents you query are never uploaded, so API payloads and private datasets stay on your device.
How to use the JSONPath finder.
- Paste your JSON into the editor
- Type an expression like
$.users[*].emailin the path field - Click "Query" — wildcards expand automatically
- Copy a path by clicking any result's path badge

FAQ.
What is JSONPath used for?
Extracting specific values from JSON without parsing the whole structure manually — for example pulling every email from an API response or a single field from a nested config.
Is this a JSONPath evaluator or just a path finder?
Both. Enter an expression to evaluate it against your JSON, or click any value in the results to copy its auto-generated JSONPath for reuse.
What is the difference between . and ..?
.key selects an immediate child, while ..key performs recursive descent, matching key at any depth in the document.
Can I query private or sensitive JSON?
Yes, safely. Querying runs client-side in your browser; the document never leaves your device — no server ever sees it.
Why did my expression return no results?
Usually a wrong root ($), a missing wildcard on an array (books[*]), or a case-sensitive key mismatch. Check the syntax cheatsheet and compare against a copied path from the results.
